Competition for General AI candidates in BTech CSE has decreased for three consecutive years. The round five closing rank relaxed to 28662 in 2026. In 2025 and 2024, the same specialisation had the Round 5 closing ranks of 22131 and 20039, respectively. Aspirants need to appear for SRMJEEE (PG) conducted by the university for admission in MTech course. SRM Institute of Technology Kattankulathur conduct SRMJEEE in two phases. After the completion of the selection rounds, aspirants need to attend the counselling and document verification round. Only after the payment of course fee, admission is confirmed in the university.

MTech is a two-year course divided into four semesters. SRM Institute of Technology Kattankulathur offers M.Tech in full-time mode in 61 specialisations and part-time in seven specialisations. M.Tech (full-time) specialisations are Automation and Robotics, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Cloud Computing, Computer Aided Design, Construction Engineering and Management, Electronics and Control Engineering, Embedded System Technology, Environmental Engineering, etc. Candidates who have completed graduation in relevant subjects can apply for any of the M.Tech specialisations.

The CUSAT CAT 2024 merit list will be based on the marks scored by the candidate. The tentative score-based merit list will be prepared by the university for the candidates to download and check their names.
