Considering the previous year cut off it is quite difficult to get seat in NIT or IIIT with the given rank. Your category rank must be under 8000 to have decent chances of getting seat in an NIT or IIIT. As your rank is above 8000 you may not get seat in NIT or IIIT. However, you may get seat in a college through state counselling. In states like Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Uttara Khand, Madhya Pradesh admission in to Engineering courses is based on merit in JEE Main. You can apply for admission in to such colleges if you fulfill the eligibility criteria.

There are two ways through which a candidate can get admission to the second year of B.Tech programme at SIT:

  1. Lateral Entry: Candidates who have completed their Diploma Course/ Diploma in vocational Course from any recognised Polytechnic College, passed Diploma in Vocational stream in the same or allied sector as per AICTE norms, or passed B Sc Degree from a recognised university as defined by UGC with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST category) and passed H.S.C with mathematics as a subject as per AICTE norms can apply for lateral entry to the second year of B.Tech programme at SIT.
