WBJEE 2023 question paper is divided into two sections - Paper 1 (Mathematics) and Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry). Each paper is of 2 hours duration. While attempting the examination, the candidates will have to answer 75 questions from Paper 1 (Mathematics) and 80 questions from Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry). All questions are multiple-choice in nature. Candidates can check the detailed WBJEE 2023 exam pattern online at the official website.

Yes. Candidates will be able to attempt WBJEE in Bengali. The authorities provide two language options to the candidates for the examination. The candidates can either opt to attempt WBJEE in English or Bengali. The question booklet will be available in both languages at the examination centres so the candidates will just have to let the invigilator know their preference. There will be no difference in the question pattern between the two languages. No other medium of language will be used for WBJEE.

The official marking scheme of WBJEE 2023 has been released online. Candidates can now access the marking scheme to check how their responses will be marked by the authorities. For Category I questions, each correct answer will be awarded one mark. An incorrect response will yield a loss of 1/4 mark. For any combination of responses with more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield -1/4 marks. As per the WBJEE 2023 pattern, the questions are divided into three categories. Category I consists of 110 multiple-choice questions where only one answer option is correct. Category II will consist of 25 multiple-choice questions where the candidates will have to select only one correct option. Finally, Category III will consist of 20 multiple-choice questions where one or more option will be correct. Candidates will have to answer majority of the questions in the examination correctly to have a higher chance of being qualified for the exam.
