The total tuition fee for BTech courses at IIT BHU is between INR 3.20 lakh and INR 8.50 lakh. Candidates seeking admission to BTech at IIT Varanasi need to meet the following criteria: 

• Eligibility: Class 12 in the Science stream with Physics Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects & a minimum of 75% aggregate (65% for SC/ ST/ PwD category candidates) or be in the top 20 percentile
• Selection: JEE Advanced score followed by JoSAA Counselling (Candidates are allowed to attempt the JEE Advanced exam two times in two consecutive years).

IPU CET counselling is being conducted in online mode. The candidates are allotted seats during IPU CET counselling. Candidates are called for counselling based on their JEE Main score for the B.Tech programme. For B.Tech (Biotechnology), Lateral Entry to B.Tech programmes for Diploma holders and Lateral Entry to B.Tech programmes for B.Sc. Graduates, candidates are called for counselling based on IPU CET score.

There is no restriction for filling the preferences of the courses and colleges. Candidates can fill in choices as much as they can. The candidates are allotted seats based on their IPU CET score and seat availability. The candidates are allotted seats as per their preferences.

The documents required for verification are JEE Main admit card & result (for B.Tech course), IPU CET 2026 score card (B.Tech (BioTechnology), Lateral Entry to B.Tech Programmes for B.Sc. Graduates, Lateral Entry to B.Tech Programmes for Diploma holders) caste category Certificate admission receipt, provisional allotment letter, and conduct Certificate. The candidates must make sure that all the documents are provided during document verification. After confirmation of the seats, candidates have to go through the document verification process.

Yes, printed copy of IPU CET admit card must be taken to exam centre. The admit card is proof of eligibility and registration for IPU CET. It will have information such as roll number, exam centre details, and instructions.
