For B Tech cources in TU one must appear in JEE Mains and then through JoSSA councilling for direct admission and you have to secure a good score let say for general around 82-85 percentile in JEE Mains. And for lateral entry one must appear in TUEE Tezpur University Entrence Exam) held by the university. But for North East students there is 60% reservation for admission and seperate councilling.

Getting admission to a government college for engineering typically requires a competitive score in entrance exams like the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) or state-level engineering entrance exams. These exams consider both the JEE score and the 12th-grade percentage. While AJEE score of 58.17% and a 12th-grade percentage of 52% may not be considered very high, it's essential to keep in mind that cutoff scores can vary significantly from year to year and among different colleges. Some government colleges have a higher cutoff, while others may have a lower cutoff.
