Having a percentile of 79.4 in the JEE Mains, it is very tough to get a CSE seat in the top NITs and IIITs for the general category. But you have good prospects in some well ranked private universities, GFTIs (in the later rounds) and state government colleges. Following is the list of the Chandigarh CSE colleges in India accepting JEE Main score with their tuition fees –
Top CSE Colleges in India | Tuition Fee |

hi,
No, you cannot join IITs through lateral entry after a diploma. Institutes like Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and other Indian Institutes of Technology only admit students into B.Tech (including aeronautical/aerospace) through the regular first-year route via Joint Entrance Examination Advanced, after qualifying Joint Entrance Examination Main. Diploma holders must follow the same process and start from first year—there is no direct 2nd-year entry.

hi,
For admission into Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (often called IIT Mumbai), the required rank in Joint Entrance Examination Advanced depends on the branch and your category. For top branches like Computer Science, you typically need a rank within ~1–70 (General category). For Aerospace Engineering, the closing rank is usually around ~1500–2500 (General). Cutoffs vary each year based on difficulty, seat matrix, and competition. Reserved categories (OBC, SC, ST) have comparatively relaxed ranks. To be safe, aim for the best possible rank, ideally within the top 2000 for good core branches at IIT-B.

hi,
No, you cannot get admission into B.Tech (Aerospace Engineering) at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay without taking Joint Entrance Examination Main. JEE Main is the mandatory first step to qualify for Joint Entrance Examination Advanced, which is the only entrance exam for IIT admissions. Without clearing JEE Main, you are not eligible to appear for JEE Advanced, and hence cannot enter IIT-B. There is no direct admission, management quota, or alternative route for B.Tech at IITs, even for diploma holders.
