MANIT M.Tech follows standard government rules for fee refunds. If you leave before the classes start, you get most of your money back. A small processing fee is usually kept by the college. However, once the semester is well underway, it is harder to get a full refund. You must apply for a refund within the time limits set by CCMT. 

MANIT M.Tech fees are generally higher for sponsored and self-financed seats. These students pay a different rate because they don't receive a government stipend. The total cost for these categories can be significantly more than for regular students. You should check the specific notice for non-GATE admissions to see the exact price. This helps you plan your finances if you are not joining through the standard GATE merit list and CCMT counselling.

MANIT M.Tech academic fees do not cover your stay or food on campus. You must pay hostel rent and mess charges separately if you live there. Hostel fees are usually about INR 15,000 to INR 25,000 per semester. Mess bills are paid every month and cover your daily meals. These costs are extra, so you should budget for them separately. 

MANIT M.Tech institutional applications usually require a specific fee. This is around INR 1,500 for General/OBC and INR 1,000 for SC/ST candidates. You pay this directly to the college through their online payment system. This is separate from the registration fee you pay to CCMT for regular rounds. Make sure to save the payment receipt for your records. You will need to show it during the final admission steps at the college campus.

MANIT M.Tech requires you to have several digital documents ready. You will need your GATE scorecard and all your college mark sheets. Also, keep your Class 10 and 12 certificates and a valid ID like Aadhaar. If you are from a reserved category, your caste certificate must be in the central format. Having clear scans of these papers will make your online upload much faster. 

MANIT M.Tech has a direct application process for sponsored students. You do not use the CCMT portal for this category. Instead, you wait for the advertisement on the MANIT official website in April. You fill out the form and submit it directly to the institute. 

MANIT M.Tech application starts by qualifying the GATE. Next, you register on the CCMT portal during the month of May. You will fill in your personal details and upload your scorecard. Then, you must list your preferred branches at MANIT in order. If you are allotted a seat, pay the fee and verify your documents online. 

MANIT M.Tech seats that are not filled initially go to the "Special Rounds." If seats are still empty after that, the institute might hold a "Spot Round." This is a last-chance opportunity for students to join. Sometimes, even non-GATE students can apply if seats remain vacant at the very end. This ensures the college fills as many spots as possible. It is a good chance for those who missed out earlier.

MANIT M.Tech reserves a few spots in each branch for sponsored candidates. Usually, there are about two seats per specialisation for this category. To qualify, you need at least two years of work experience. No GATE score required. You might have to present an NOC from your employer. The institute selects these candidates based on their own merit criteria and interviews, and the process is separate from the regular one.

MANIT M.Tech document verification happens online right after you get a seat. For 2026, this will be in June and July. You usually get three to five days to upload your papers. You must also pay the seat acceptance fee during this time. If you fail to do this, your seat will be cancelled automatically.
