SNAP percentile means a candidate's rank against all test takers. It is calculated on the basis of marks scored. For example, total marks in SNAP is 60, so any candidate getting the highest score out of 60 will get 99.99 percentile. Many a times, more than one candidates get highest score so their percentiles are same.

There is no passing mark in SNAP. Candidates scoring more than 0 in the exam are eligible for WAT-PI round of SIU institutes. However, shortlisting of candidates are based on SNAP cut offs, which are between 50 to 99 percentile across the 16 SIU institutes. For example, SIBM Pune cut off for PI shortlisting in 98+ percentile, while SSSS Pune cut off is 55 percentile.

Since the cutoff ranks are much higher, admission to the CSE branch at BIT Sindri is unlikely for someone with an OBC-NCL category score of 79.64 in the JEE Main exam. You might look into private institutions and engineering colleges in other states, or you might think about other branches with lower cutoffs. Based on JEE Main rank, admission is determined by JCECEB counseling.
