SRMJEEE used to be held as a computer based test. However, after the pandemic, SRMJEEE is being held as an online proctored test. The difference between the 2 is that CBT exams are not internet based tests. The candidates are needed to visit an exam centre and access the test on a computer which has exam questions already fed on it. In SRMJEEE online proctored test, candidates have to take the exam with the help of internet connection from the comfort of their homes on their own devices. The exam question will appear in real time on the screen an d the candidates have o answer those questions. The candidates will be monitored using AI

Candidates will be eligible to apply for one or both sessions of MET 2025. If the candidates attempt both sessions of MET then the authorities will consider the best of the two scores for admissions into the B.Tech courses offered by the participating campuses. The candidates will be required to qualify at least one session to be eligible for admissions. Candidates are advised to attempt both sessions so that they have higher chances of securing the required scores to be allotted into their preferred course and campus.

The total duration of the SRMJEEE exam is 2.5 hours. Mode of test- Online Duration- Two hours and thirty minutes Language- English Total number of questions- 130 Questions type Objective type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with four options from which only one option is correct. Subjects asked- Physics, Maths, Chemistry, English & Aptitude. For Biotechnology- Candidates have to appear for Biology instead of Mathematics. Marking scheme- One mark will be provided for every correct answer. There is no negative marking.
