About 40+ best Fashion Design colleges are there in Kolkata. Of these, 33 colleges are privately owned, 5 colleges are owned by public/government organisations, and public-private entities own 1 college. Some of the top Fashion Design colleges in Kolkata include NIFT Kolkata, J.D Birla Institute (JDBI), NSOU - Netaji Subhas Open University, Amity University, Kolkata, Sister Nivedita University, INIFD, Saltlake, Heritage Institute of Technology, etc.
Admission will only be based on merit basis or some colleges accept NIFT entrance exam.

The NTA released the NIFT 2026 answer key (FINAL) on March 23, 2026.
The final key was released after considering objections filed by the candidate. There is no provision to challenge the final answer key.
So, the keys included in the FINAL answer key of NIFT 2026 will be considered to the correct and official answers.

Pearl Academy Mumbai is a popular institute among the aspirants of fashion design courses. In 2023, it was ranked 6th in the Outlook I-CARE Ranking 2023 among the top 25 fashion design institutes. Additionally, The Week ranked the institute 22nd in the Fashion Design category.
Comparing Pearl Academy Mumbai India Today ranking trend, its ranking improved slightly in 2023 at 23rd position from 24th in 2022.

Pearl Academy is better than Amity for fashion design. Pearl Academy says it has a 99% placement rate for 2022-2023, with the highest packages being 17 LPA and 20.27 LPA. Some of the companies that have hired Pearl Academy graduates include Accenture, Walt Disney, and IBM.
Amity School of Fashion Technology (ASFT) in Noida says it offers 100% placement assistance to its students. The average package for an MBA in Fashion Management is Rs 4 Lacs per year, with the highest package reaching Rs 10 Lacs per year.
