With a rank of 1705, you can expect Fashion Design seats in NIFT Kannur, Patna, Raebareli, Shillong, or Kangra, mostly in later rounds. Popular campuses like Delhi, Mumbai, or Bengaluru may be out of reach for Fashion Design. Fill all choices during counselling to maximize your chances.

If you wish to gain the fundamentals of fashion designing, a short-term certificate or Diploma in Fashion Design is the best choice. Well-known institutes such as NIFT, Pearl Academy, and INIFD provide beginner programs such as "Certificate in Fashion Design" or "Diploma in Fashion Technology," which can be completed within 6 months to 1 year. These courses include necessary subjects such as construction of garments, illustration in fashion, textiles, and principles of design, and therefore are apt for students who have no experience. Most institutions also provide online versions using platforms such as Coursera, Udemy, and Swayam.

Since you've completed your B.A. program, you're eligible to pursue Fashion Design either through:

  1. Undergraduate (if you want a second UG degree)
  2. Postgraduate / Diploma / Certificate programs (ideal for grads like you)

Common Courses:

  • M.Des (Master of Design) – for deeper, research-based design study
  • PG Diploma in Fashion Design – shorter and career-oriented
  • MBA in Fashion Management – for those leaning toward branding/business
  • Certificate Courses – specialised & short (e.g. Fashion Styling, CAD, Textile Design)
