Hello Sangeeta,
In my sight, the government colleges are the best design colleges, namely NIFT and NID. Both the colleges have branches in many Indian states. Apart from theses two, Pearl Academy, Delhi and Jaipur, both are equally good but private. Amity school of fashion technology, Symbiosis institute of design are also good ones. Hi Prachi!
There is no comparison between the two courses. Also, there is no career avenue which is gender specific. It all depends on your interest.

Hi!
You can do your Masters in fashion design while taking up internships or shadowing other designers. NIFT Mumbai, pearl, Sophia, SNDT, B. D SOMANI are some of the college which have a good fashion design programme.

Hi, Fashion design in NIFT has a module about 'photography' for one semester. Fashion communication on the other hand has fashion photography as one of its core subjects. If you want to learn something like styling which is also an integral part of fashion photography I would suggest choosing fashion design otherwise fashion communication would be the best option for you.
