Fashion Design

The college does not offer Diploma in fashion designing.

You will only be able to join NIFT after completing 12th successfully and clear the entrance exam conducted by NIFT.

Masters in designing will be design as a whole, whereas, Masters in fashion management will focus on fashion management. So, if you have interest in fashion management so this is the best course for you.

The opportunities for job exist in the following sectors:
- Export houses dealing with garment/textile/hand loom exports
- Retail and wholesale garment businesses in men/ women/ children clothing in sportswear/casual wear, etc.
- Haute Couture
- Government/Semi government-handloom/textile manufacturers
- Fashion show organizers/Fashion publishers
- TV/Film fashion program producers/comperes/costume designers, etc.
- With Film production units
- Teaching design

Hi Mohini, it is right if you are genuinely interested in this field and you have creativity. Every individual has his or her own interest and aptitude,if you have the skills and love design and related stuff then go for it.

Both of professions mentioned are totally different in nature and thereby cannot be compared. One is about creativity and other is about public service, they have different needs and duties. It depends on you, where your interest lies and what you want to finally with your life.
