Hi,
After completing the fashion design course, there are many avenues and opportunities. You can opt for a career in :
-export house
-textile mill
-manufacturing and processing company that produces clothing, soft furnishings and other textiles-based products
-several large fashion and clothing retailers
-design studios and consultancies
-handloom cooperatives and buying agencies
You may even work as freelancer. And with good experience and contacts, you can eventually open your own business.
As far as salary is concerned, it depends on various parameters such as size of the organization, profile, qualification, experience etc.
But, to give a brief idea, a fresher can earn around 15-20 thousand per month.
In export houses experienced textile designers may draw Rs 25,000 to Rs 40,000 per month.

Supriya, There are many careers for the creative/ artistic people. Interiors as well as Web Design rely on the same skills - your layout skills and color sense. A little higher perches Graphic Design, Fashion Design and Fine Arts which rely on one of your artistic skills - sketching and imagination. At a similar level perches VFX as well as Motion Graphics which rely on one of your artistic skills - Cinematographic skills and imagination. After completing diploma in fashion design (3 years), it would be advisable to opt for lateral entry B.Sc course.
To be eligible for B.Sc fashion design (lateral entry) :
You need to pass Diploma Fashion (3 years after 10th) or (1/2 years after 12th) equivalent with 50% aggregate marks.

If in case, you have completed diploma of 1 year then you need to complete 12th first before opting for a degree course. As it is the basic requirement to pursue any advance course or apply for job in any sector in future.
If not by regular classes then you may complete 12th by joining ' The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) ' . And you may pursue lateral course alongside.
