The information available on the website of National Dairy Research Institute is unfortunately not updated recently. But it does not talk of possibility of lateral admission. Hence I am afraid that scope of lateral admission is not there. But if your state govt accepts diploma as equivalent to 12th then you have still chance of seeking admission in first year of this four year degree course. I am attaching a link that will give you all the required information about different aspects of the admission process.

There is no B.Sc in chemical engineering in India. There are B.Tech and BE courses. B.Tech is more inclined towards research and be is more industrial focused.

The candidates must be passed 10+2 with at least 50% (45% in case of Backward categories and PWD students of Maharashtra State only) marks from a recognised board with subjects English, Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry /Biotechnology /Biology/ Technical Vocational subject. Or have passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology with obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks for Backward & PWD students) or have passed B.Sc. Degree with at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks for backward class & PWD candidates). .
