There are about 45+ BTech in Food Technology colleges in Maharashtra. Of these, 27 colleges are privately owned, 12 colleges are owned by public/government organisations and public-private entities own only 1 college. Yes, placements in the Food Technology courses are good. Dabur, ITC, Nestle, Britannia, Bisleri, Coca-Cola, Parle, etc. are the top recruiters in this field. The highest package for UG students in LPU was INR 12 LPA. There are several job opportunities in food processing, quality control, R&D, product development, food safety, packaging, and manufacturing.
Food Corporation of India (FCI), Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), and Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) are the top government organisation hiring in this field.

B.Tech food technology engineering at Tezpur University is a 4 years full-time course at the UG level. The course offers admission of only 60 students. The total tuition fee for food technology at tezpur University is INR 2.16 lakh. Apart from the tuition fee there is a one-time admission fee of INR 7300 and a hostel fee of INR 5400 that students have to pay in addition to the tution fee. Coca-Cola, Colgate Palmolive, Nestle, Hindustan Unilever, ITC, and Unicef are the main recruiters here. The average salary package is INR 4.25 lakh. No, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IP University) does not offer a B.Tech course in Food Engineering. IPU offers UG and PG courses in the fields of Engineering, Design, and Arts ( Fine / performing). Under these streams, the college offers B.E. / B.Tech, B.Voc, and B.Des courses at the undergraduate level.

The College fee for the Course of M.Tech in Food Technology at MIT College of Food Technology is :
1: M.Tech (Food Technology) which is of duration of 2 years is Rs. 3,83,500/-
2: M.Tech (FSQM) which is of duration of 2 years is Rs. 3,83,500/-
Apart from that if you want to take admisison in the UG course which is B.Tech in food technology which is of duration of 4 years is Rs. 7,93,500/-

The Scolarship offered here are based on first come first serve basis and there are three type of scholarship offered here :
1: If your Score in JEE/CET is greater than 85% then you'll get Scholarship of 90,000/-
2: If your Score in JEE/CET is Greater than or equal to 70% & Equal to or less than 85% then you'll get Scholarship of 70,000/-
3: If your Score in JEE/CET is Greater than or equal to 60% & Equal to or less than 69% then you'll get Scholarship of 50,000/-

To get admission in M.Tech at MIT College of Food Technology you have to fufill the following criteria:
1: B.Tech. (Food Science / Food Technology) or four years equivalent degree programme in food Science and Food Technology passed with 60% of marks in aggregates or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 10 – point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).
2: Valid GATE Score or PERA CET Score.
3: Eligible students have to clear the interview to get listed in the admission merit list.
