Yes it is possible if you score in the GATE exam in Material Science or other related fields like Biotech, Chemical Engineering and so on, you can apply for M.Tech in Material Science at IIT Bombay even if you have done your B.Tech in Biotechnology. At IIT Bombay, students from all the engineering disciplines can opt for Material Science. Candidates must fulfill other criteria as well to get admission through GATE.
