No, changing exam center after release of GATE hall ticket is not allowed. Hall ticket of GATE 2026 will be released anytime soon. The GATE admit card release date has been postponed.

Candidates can find the GATE 2026 mock test papers on the official website- gate2026.iitg.ac.in. The mock test link will be activated a few months before the exam. Aspirants can attempt the GATE mock tests for free using a dummy email ID. The mock test links are available for all 30 branch papers. With the help of the GATE mock test papers, candidates can get an idea of the exam pattern, difficulty level, and high-weightage topics.

The following ID proofs are accepted for GATE 2026 registration -
- For Indian Nationals - Aadhar, PAN Card, Government- issued ID, Passport, Voter ID, and Driving License.
- For International candidates - valid passport/Government- issued ID or Driving License.
Candidates can submit/upload any one of the following.
NOTE: Applicants must carry the one that they have uploaded in their application form.

Candidates can avail scribe facility at the time of filling application form. One must upload disability certificate or UDID. Candidates must check eligibility and instructions for GATE scribe before registration.

A caste certificate in the regional language is not acceptable. In that case, what you can do is convert it into English language by the authority (where you got it issued). After getting it converted, scan it properly and upload it in PDF format while filling the GATE application form 2026.

Candidates need to upload following documents if they are in 3rd year -
- Scanned photo
- Signature
- Valid photo ID proof
- Category certificate (optional)
- PwD or Dyslexic certificate (optional)

If you've changed the name recently but your marksheet has the old name, then you can submit an affidavit for the same. Also, one must provide a valid reason for it. You can also contact your GATE zone helpcentre to assist.
You can also contact your respective board and submit an application request for a name change along with the required documents. Once the board approves, a new board marksheet will be issued to you.
