IIT Bhubaneswar offer regular course admission based on GATE scores only. For sponsored category candidates with 3+ years experience or graduates from IITs with required aggregate, selection may get done without GATE scores.

The GATE 2026 cutoff varies every year. The organising institute (IIT Guwahati) determines cutoff based on certain factors - number of registered candidates, question paper difficulty, normalisation process, seat intake, etc.

  • If the GATE question paper is tough, then the cutoff is likely to be low.
  • On the other hand, if the GATE question paper is easy, then the cutoff may get high.

No, the question papers released by coaching institutes are prepared using memory based questions from students who appear in the exam. They are not the actual papers. The official/actual papers are released only by the organising institute.

Yes, candidates need to provide supporting proof for GATE 2026 answer key challenge. Supporting document has to be uploaded to the website while submitting the answer key challenge. IIT Guwahati will not accept the answer key challenge without proper supporting proof.
