If you give your 100% and work really hard, you can definitely crack GATE within 6 months. You should get a good private tutor to guide you and give online mock tests for GATE to know how is your preparation. There are many books available in the market. Select the best suited for you. Study at least 10 hours a day. This all will lead you to reach your goal surely.

Hi dear,
Yes, indeed you can do jobs after qualifying GATE with a good rank. Through GATE, you can do research, M.Tech, join PSUs and lot more. Sometimes, companies select you based on GATE rank and help you complete your higher studies and then hire you.

GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. This examination is administered and conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of the National Coordination Board. In this year GATE Examination, 15 subject papers will a computer based test: AE, AG, AR, BT, CE, CH, CY, GG, M.A. MN, MT, PH, TF, XE, and XL. And Female candidates are exempted from paying the application fee, as required by MHRD, Government of India. You need to register and fill the application form of GATE examination online only, you have to visit the GATE's zonal website and fill the online application

Hello Moseem,
Fundamentally, GATE syllabus is equivalent to BE. In addition, one is expected to choose GATE paper of the branch in which BE is done. So the requirement for further study material is rather limited.

Dear Aaditya,
You need to first clear your aim what you actually want to do, that is, whether to clear GATE or UPSC. Yes, you have sufficient time to clear UPSC but for that, try to make your basics strong, like your GK level. Surround yourself with those who have great knowledge regarding interviews, current affairs, etc.
