If you want to pursue any UG in Genetics, You need to have PCB subjects in your 12th, which is the basic eligibility for doing any courses regarding Genetics. So, You don't need any additional subjects.

Hi, you'll get to study a range of subjects under the course in your 6 semesters. Some major subjects you'll be offered are Principles of Microbiology, Chemistry, Microbial Genetics, Principles of Immunology, Biodiversity & Taxonomy, Reproductive & Cancer Genetics, etc.

I found your question very interesting, Go for Microbiology. It will give you more options in future when you start searching for jobs. Biotechnology will narrow down your future path and it will be difficult to get good job after post graduation. While microbiology gives you wider prospects in government jobs specially. If You will go through recent BIS Recruitment advertisement, it has vacancies for microbio field but not for biotech. There are many jobs where biotechnology graduates cant apply but microbiologist can. And where Biotechnology can apply microbiologist also have options in the same.
