In order to secure an admission, all overseas applicants must fulfill certain George Mason University admission requirements listed below:

UG

  • High school records
  • Official results of any leaving certificates or university entrance exams
  • English proficiency proof and
  • SAT/ACT scores (not mandatory).

PG

  • 4-year bachelor's degree (or equivalent)
  • English proficiency proof
  • 3.0 GPA

A few of the things that GMU students can do on the weekends are:

  • Volunteer at one of the local animal rescues
  • Hike just to the west in Shenandoah National Park or Great Falls
  • Check the seasonal events from Waterford Day to Apple Blossom festival and many other Civil War sites
  • Do sightseeing in DC – the museums, China Town, art galleries, etc.

Specifically, for MS in Mathematics course for George Mason University,  GRE score is not required. However, apart from this, the applicants must meet all the graduate course requirements such as having a bachelor's degree with minimum 3.0 GPA. The applicants are also required to submit 3 letters of recommendation.

Other admission requirements

  • Students must have taken an upper-division course in Advanced Calculus, an Abstract Algebra course and an upper-division course in Linear Algebra
  • Students must also have some Computer knowledge

All international students can apply for #YouareWelcomeHere Scholarship. This scholarship is open to first-year undergraduate international students of all academic majors and fields, and is applied to tuition costs. This scholarship covers a minimum of 50% tuition fee for the first year of study and is renewable for the second year as long as the student has a good academic standing.
