The eligibility criteria for MPhil in German are that candidate should have qualified their MA in German with a specialisation and secured a minimum of 55% marks. A Bachelor's degree in German language and literature, or a closely related discipline, from an accredited university or institution, is a prerequisite for consideration. An additional requirement for some programmes might be a Master's degree in a related field.

As stipulated by the university offering the MPhil programme, candidates often need to have completed their undergraduate and/or graduate studies with a minimum percentage or grade point average (GPA).

On the other hand, the language requirements for master’s degrees vary from programme to program. Master’s programs at the Technical University of Berlin are offered in German and / or English.
