Depends on what you're good at. In my opinion, translating the other language from your native language is easier because when you understand the meaning of the sentence, it gets easier to speak. But in the case of German, it has a more complicated grammatical structure than English, so it will be a little difficult to translate English into German.

That is because the German language comes from the Old High German word "Diutisc", which means "of the people". So, basically, Deutsch is the word Germans use for themselves and their language, as Germany is an outside term given by the Roman world.

Being good in German certainly opens up more job opportunities to Indian students in roles where language is important such as- Teaching and Retail. 

But it is okay if someone is not good in German. There are many top organizations that give preference to individual's skill set over language proficiency and most IT jobs don't require German language proficiency. But, proficiency in English is very important.

Like most German universities, KIT mandates the submission of the proof of one's German language proficiency. Undergraduate students can submit a German language certificate to prove the same. The university will accept DSH2, Test DaF 4444, DSD 2 of German schools abroad, German Language Test, Goethe Certificate C2, Deutsch C1 Hochschule.

For graduate students, the German language certificates accepted by Karlsruhe Institute of Technology include DSH2, Test DaF 4444, German Language Test, Goethe Certificate C2, DSD II, telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule. Students can refer to the official university website for more details. 

Many public universities in Germany ask for higher marks, especially in popular courses. But if the course doesn't have NC (Numerus Clausus), and your other documents are strong, you still have a chance. 

For the programs that are being taught in German at Ludwig Maximilians University Munich, evidence of German language proficiency test is required. Indian students have to submit these English language proficiency tests too for the programs whose language of instruction is German. The language certificates in German that are accepted at this university are:

• One of other C1/CD certificates

B2 level German is considered good enough to be eligible for admission to LMU Germany.

No, not really. Most MS in Computer Science in Germany programs are in English. But if you know some German, it helps you in finding part-time jobs or talking to local people. For jobs after study, knowing German can be useful too.
