For admission to the MCA programme at GITAM Institute, candidate must have passed in any degree with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks and Mathematics/Statistics at +2 level or degree level or equivalent examination. Apart from this, candidates need to clear any of the APICET, or GITAM GAT entrance test . Graduation final year students may also apply on a provisional basis.

To be eligible for the M.Tech programme at GITAM Visakhapatnam, candidates must achieve a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination from recognised University i.e., in class 12 and a score obtained in GAT (Engineering PG) 2024. In order to be eligible to take the BTech programme at GITAM Visakhapatnam, an applicant needs to have a minimum aggregate of 60 percent in the Class 12/Intermediate, with a slightly lessened so that 55 percent of CBSE and ICSE students, are not obligated to meet the requirement. Or alternatively, a CGPA of 6.0 with a recognised Central/State board is acceptable. The mandatory courses under the BTech programme include Physics, Chemistry as well as Mathematics/Biology to those students who are doing Biotechnology.

Class 12 in the Science stream is the basic eligibility for BTech at GITAM Institute of Technology, Visakhapatnam. Further, the candidates need to qualify GAT for securing admission to the BTech course at the institute. 

Candidates seeking to enrol for VLSI Design in M.Tech branch must have a BE/ BTech/ AMIE in ECE/ EEE/ EIE/ Instrumentation/ CSE/ IT or its equivalent degree.

To be eligible for the MSc programme at GITAM School of Science MSc programme candidates should have completed a BSc/BPharm/BCA with a minimum of 50% aggregate from a recognized university.  In some cases, Class 12/Intermediate or equivalent qualifications with specific subject requirements are also necessary. Selection for admission is based on the GITAM Admission Test (GAT) PG (Science), followed by a Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GDPI) process.
