No, you cannot proceed to an M.Sc Nursing directly after completing your GNM. There is another programme that you have to undertake, which is Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, a two-year course for those who have completed their GNM. Once you have completed Post Basic B.Sc Nursing and gained the required clinical experience, then only you become eligible for M.Sc Nursing.

Most GNM programs in Dehradun require candidates to have completed Class 12. For GNM, the eligibility is Class 12 in any stream, preferably science, with 40% marks. So even students from non-science backgrounds can pursue GNM as long as they have completed Class 12 with the required marks.

The full form of ANM is Auxiliary Nurse Midwife. It is a 2 year certificate programme that generally focuses on healthcare in rural areas. 

The full form of GNM is General Nursing and Midwifery. It is a 3 year Diploma course that teaches healthcare and midwifery in a larger context.
