After a Diploma, you can either enroll for a degree course or look for jobs. For example, in universities like Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, you can enroll in a B. Tech in Computer Science course, after you complete your Diploma course. In that case, you will be directly given admission

As per Maharashtra State Technical Diploma Courses Educational Institutions (Admissions) Rules 2019, The other states candidates are eligible for Institution quota only. So you have to contact to Principal Government Polytechnic, Mumbai for further details.

Yes, you can apply under institute quota seats. The institute quota seats will be filled by the concerned institute. Hence you may directly contact to desired polytechnic for further proceedings.

I can understand your angst and apprehension about job prospects after completion of diploma. Unfortunately, authentic data is not available. However reliable sources indicate that its the civil branch which is at top followed by Computers, mechanical then electrical, etc.
