BAMS admissions at Gujarat Ayurveda University are available on the merit basis as well as on the entrance test basis. There is no direct admission as a form of admission. Admission requirements:
- Eligibility: 10+2 with pass in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology and should have passed in each of them and 40% marks in each of the subject for SC/ST Candidates
- Entrance exam: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test commonly abbreviated as NEET.
- Seats: 180 (BAMS)
- Reservation: 50 percent seats for Gujarat state candidates and 15% for All India quota.

The curriculum for the undergraduate (BAMS) and postgraduate courses of Ayurveda, M.D./M.S. (Ayu), is followed according to the syllabus designed by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM), where the faculties of the university are actively involved. (Ayurveda) Any CCIM recognized graduate of Ayurveda from a recognized university can apply for the PG course. An admission notification will be announced usually during the months of April of every year. Admission is done on the basis of all India written test organized by Gujarat Ayurved University, Jamnagar.
