Yes, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has approved Central University of Gujarat. The Central Universities Act of 2009, an Act of the Indian Parliament number 25 from 2009, founded the university. The Central University of Gujarat has received Grade 'A' accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
