Gujarat University admission is merit-based for most of the courses. However, for some PG and PhD level programmes, aspirants need to qualify for the national or university-level entrance exam. Candidates need to complete a minimum of Class 12 to apply for UG courses whereas graduation is required to apply for PG programmes. The university offers admission to most of the courses based on the merit of the aspirants in the last qualifying exam.

Gujarat University is Public State Governmnet University. It has been ranked 17 by the Outlook 2026 in the MBA category. It has also been ranked in the range of 101-150 by the NIRF ranking 2025 . As per the NIRF Report 2025, out of 1,708 students of the PG level, around 1102 students secured placements. Overall, it is a very good university in terms of rankings & placements.

Veer Narmad South Gujarat University is located in Surat, Gujarat and is also known as VNSGU. It has been accredited by NAAC with B+ grade in 2022 and has also been recognised by the UGC. At present, there are 34 government, 190 self-financed colleges, and 150 postgraduate teaching centres affiliated with VNSGU.

The placement details for MBA are yet to be released. The University has released the NIRF report 2025 which includes the placement details for the batch 2024. According to the report, all 239 PG 2 years students were placed from the total 1596 graduated students of the batch 2024 with a median package of INR 4.39 LPA.
