OMR sheets are designed to detect and process marked responses, and altering options after marking may lead to complications in evaluation. The percentage of questions from different subjects is as follows for IPU CET Lateral Entry for Diploma students

  • Computer Awareness and Physics / Chemistry Related Knowledge - 25% 
  • Applied Mathematics - 25%
  • Applied Mechanics - 25%
  • Analytical and Logical Reasoning - 25%.

In IPU CET  there is negative marking. This means one mark is reduced for each incorrect response. Marks are not deducted for unanswered questions. This means that if a candidate leaves a question unanswered, no marks are deducted.

A total of 100 questions will be asked in IPU CET exam for B.Tech lateral entry and B.Tech (Bio-Technology) admission. Four answer choices be given for each question. Candidates must choose correct answer from options given. Total marks allotted to the question paper is 400.

In IPU CET for each correct answer, four marks will be given, and for each incorrect answer, one mark will be reduced. There are no marks deducted for unanswered questions. Examination is conducted for 2 hours 30 minutes. Candidates must know the marking scheme before attempting exam.
