HBTU Kanpur offers limited seats in its specialised Paint Technology branch, and admission is usually through JEE Main counselling. With a CRL rank of 2.75 Lacs and OBC-NCL rank of around 96,000, chances are low but not impossible. During later rounds or spot counselling, if vacancies persist, you may be considered under the OBC category. Also, domicile candidates from Uttar Pradesh may have better chances under the state quota. Keep an eye on HBTU's UPSEE or direct counselling process post-JEE rounds.

Indeed, HBTU accepts applicants for its BBA programme without a CUET score. Only if there are still seats available after applicants with a CUET score have been assigned seats does this option become available. The Non-CUET candidates have to further take an entrance examination conducted by the university. Additionally, it is, however, necessary that the aspirant fulfil the minimum eligibility requirements.

Several top-tier institutions offer excellent Food Technology programs. Some of the best include the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), and Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTU) in Kanpur. HBTU offers a B.Tech in Food Technology, and while specific cutoff details for 2025 are not available, past years' data suggests that competitive scores in JEE Main are needed for admission.

The HBTU counselling is going on and having 3 round counselling and 1 additional round counselling. The cutoff is pretty high in first three rounds but if you are pateint enough then you can get decent branch at lower rank. For general candidate CSE cutoff goes upto 35 to 40 k. If you are only aiming to study at HBTU then you must have rank upto 4 to 5 Lacs for general candidate.

With an EWS rank of 43,033, you're unlikely to get CSE at HBTU (closing ~22k). But you're a strong candidate for core branches such as Chemical, Civil, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering, where closing ranks go up to 50–65k. Consider ranking and counseling priorities accordingly.

It is unlikely that you will get admission to the BBA program at HBTU as a general category student with a score of 180/250 in BST. The minimum eligibility criteria for BBA at HBTU requires a minimum of 55% in the 12th class. Especially given that the university considers CUET scores and other factors like the number of applicants and seats available.
