There are various institutes offering hotel management course at various level such as: Diploma Degree Post graduation/Masters All courses have there respective scope ,acceptance , duration and fee structure. Ideally for a kick start of a career in HM, the basic requirement is a degree, that is generally of 3-4 years duration.
The fees ranges between Rs 2lacs to Rs15lacs, depending on the institutes and value addition offered.

Hospitality Management is the study of the hospitality industry. A degree in the subject may be awarded either by a university college dedicated to the studies of hospitality management or a business school with a relevant department. Degrees in hospitality management may also be referred to as hotel management, hotel and tourism management, or hotel administration. Degrees conferred in this academic field include BA, Bachelor of Business Administration, BS, MS, MBA, and PhD. Hospitality management covers hotels, restaurants, cruise ships, amusement parks, destination marketing organizations, convention centers, and country clubs. BA and BSc courses are run on similar lines but what are more important is your career plans including higher studies and the choice of a university.

yes it is, especially a part of the hotels/cruises that have F&B Services or banquets.A bartender (also known as a barkeep, barman, barmaid,"bar chef" or a mixologist) is a person who formulates and serves alcoholic beverages behind the bar, usually in a licensed establishment.They must know a wide range of drink recipes and be able to mix drinks accurately, quickly, and without waste. Bartenders work in restaurants, bars, clubs, hotels, and other food service establishments.

Hospitality management is a field that focuses on all areas of hospitality operations including hotels, restaurants, cruise ships, amusement parks, country clubs, and convention centers .
Hotel Management is a part of Hospitality Management. Hotel Management as the name suggests trains students specifically in defined areas pertaining to the Hotel Industry. Hospitality is a wider term and Hotels, restaurant, travel, clubs, resorts, etc. Hotel management is a more specialized course. You would be involved with various departments such as food and beverage service, housekeeping, front office operation, sales and marketing, accounting & culinary.
In order to pursue these courses you need to be 12th pass through any stream with a minimum 50%, plus you need to take
entrance test conducted by various institutes, such as:
-NCHMCT JEE
-AIMA UGAT
-E-CHAT
-BVUHMT
-DTE HMCT

Online education in Hotel Management is possible and they are institutes providing such courses:
-Madurai University
-Annamalai Univ
-YCMOU
-IGNOU
Although institutes have this as an option but then the value of such courses is doubtful as the HM course is a practical oriented course.The entire syllabus of Degree in Hotel management involves multiple practicals which in turn facilitates your placements.
I would suggest you to opt for the course in hospitality through the regular mode.

Prabandhu being a very wide field, the scope of employment in tourism sector is very bright and the potential is still largely untapped. Career opportunities exist both in the public and private sector. In the public sector, there are opportunities in the Directorates and Departments of Tourism of the center and the state as Officers, information assistants, Tourist guides etc. Another good prospectus for qualified tourism professionals are in the private sector with travel agencies, tour operators, airlines, hotels, transport and cargo companies etc. The opening up of the skies to private airlines and their emerging tie-ups with foreign airlines has removed bottlenecks in the transport and communication network resulting in easy flow of domestic and foreign tourists in the country. Since this is a new area of employment, not many qualified and experienced people are available and the promotion prospectus are also very bright and rapid. After a few years of experience, One can also start their own business by handling all travel requirements of a client and gradually building up business, taking on additional employees.
