IIT Madras conducts the exam HSEE for admission in 5 year integrated program for Masters in Arts.
Here are a few important tips to crack the exam:
1. Always study by keeping the syllabus side with you so that you can access only those topics which is in the syllabus.
2. Try to make a list of weak topics and then, work on it to make it strong so that less questions are left unattempted.
3. Never try to leave any topic. Cover all the topics with full preparation because every question contributes marks for admission.
4. For analytical ability, one can score more by practice more and more question.
5. For General Knowledge, it is just to check the awareness of students about national and society so for this, regular study of newspaper is the best way to score more in this section.
6. For Quantitative analysis, questions are from class 10th level. Learn shortcuts technique and tricks as much as possible that you can resolve any problems without difficulty within few times.
7. For English language, this section is only to check the basis understanding in English. Try to study basics from books and work on vocabulary which helps to score better in this section.

Candidates meet HSEE 2018 eligibility criteria if they have cleared any of the below mentioned examinations with qualifying marks in 2017 or are appearing for them in 2018:
The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by a Central or State Board recognised by the Association of Indian Universities
Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a Board or University recognised by the Association of Indian Universities.
Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defense Academy.
Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects.
Any Public School, Board or University examination in India or in a foreign country recognised as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities.
HSC vocational examination.
General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London, Cambridge or Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
