It generally goes above 90%, if belong to any caste other than general, then it is okay to have around 85% marks.
These cut off gets down to 80% for reserved category. It also depends upon you want to take admission in grant or non-grant. So, study hard and all the best.

For preparation:
Know the updated syllabus, marking, paper pattern etc. Start with the books of class 11th and class 12th NCERT, this will help you with basic concepts and understanding. A reference book called "Intro. To psychology" by Robert Baron is a must. It covers basics as well covers all aspects of psychology. Some of the topics which are covered in Psychology entrance exam are:
-History of Psychology
-Humanistic Psychology
-Child Psychology
-Social Psychology
-Individual Psychology

You need to fulfill the eligibility requirements to take admission in the colleges for higher studies. Kindly name the college and university so that I may be able to populate the relevant information. Eligibility for M.Sc. In Psychology:
A student who has passed in B.A. Or B.Sc. Psychology Degree from a recognised university with minimum of 50% aggregate. Students having any other degree such as Bachelor of Social Work BSW B.A. Sociology, B.Sc. Home Science, B.A. Philosophy or B.Ed with Psychology papers. Once you fulfill the eligibility, you need to check and follow the admission process.
