The cut-off for the first list has 798 on 800. Parents of students who had scores 780 were getting agitated when they realised their children did not stand a chance. It is different for different colleges and universities.
In DU, fees for English Hons can range from 10k per annum to 15k per annum.
In Mumbai, colleges like St. Xavier's cost 6k per annum.
Looking down to private and semi private college like amity then the fees can be as high as 50k per semester.

I think, you must put some more colleges in your option because Fergusson would be a tough college with this score.

The syllabus includes literature and language awareness. Language awareness is knowledge of grammar. Try to study a good grammar book such as Practical English Usage by Michael Swan, 4th edition, OUP. Literature awareness includes knowledge of Literary works and literary terminology.
