As of February 2025, students who have finished their first year at another university are not eligible for lateral entrance into the second year of the Indira Gandhi National Open University's (IGNOU) Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) program. Generally speaking IGNOU's lateral entry policies are restricted to particular programs. For example, individuals with an IGNOU Diploma in Retailing (DIR) can enroll straight in the second year of the Bachelor of Business Administration (Retailing) program.

Regardless of previous coursework completed elsewhere all students must start the B.Com programme from the first year. IGNOU does, however have a credit transfer policy that, under specific circumstances can let you transfer credits for classes you've previously finished.

The entrance exam date for December 2024 PhD is 8th January. Applications opened on November 21, 2024 while the deadline to submit applications fell on December 31, 2024. The authorities released the admit card on January 3, 2025 during the admission process. All participants receive hundred multiple-choice questions which do not penalize wrong answers during the exam. Candidates needed to secure at least 50% marks in the exam to proceed to the interview round with additional 5% concession for reserved candidates. The application fee for general candidates amounted to INR 1,000 while members of reserved categories needed to pay INR 800. 

Potential candidates applying for B.Ed at IGNOU must hold a graduate degree along with a minimum average of 50% in either their Bachelor or master program. The admission period at IGNOU begins during May-June in addition to November-December annually. You can access online application submission through IGNOU's website by paying a registration fee of INR 1000. The B.Ed programme fee at IGNOU amounts to INR 50,000 split into two payment installments of INR 25,000 per term. You need 2 years to finish the programme at IGNOU and you must complete 32 credits before graduation. All programs operated by IGNOU appear in their common prospectus that students can buy for INR 1 ,000.

Students can enroll in BSc programs at IGNOU during their studies of D.El.Ed and BLIS programs. Multi-program enrollment through IGNOU is feasible when students select courses which do not compete for the same programme duration. You need to fulfill all eligibility requirements established by BSc programs since they accept applicants with 10+2 qualifications and equivalent levels of study. The BSc programme at IGNOU extends across three years and students must pay between INR 24,000 to INR 36,000 as total fees based on their chosen specialization. The programme admission requires applicants to submit their application form together with necessary supporting documents and payment.
