IGNOU offers admissions to various programs through entrance exams, but not for all programs. Entrance examination requirements apply to about twenty-five percent of the educational programs at IGNOU with MBA, MCA, B.Ed and M.Ed among them. The entrance exams happen during January and July sessions with almost 2-3 Lacs participants. The entrance exam fees at IGNOU vary between INR 600 and INR 1,000 according to programme selection. Some IGNOU programs allow meritorious candidates to enroll through assessment of their academic records for their previous schooling grades.
