IIIT  offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. programs in various disciplines related to information technology. The institute currently offers B.Tech. Programs in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), specialisation of Artificial intelligence and data Science and cyber security with seperate branches and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE). IIIT  also offers M.Tech programme for working professional. IIIT  has the highest number of M.Tech working professional students among all the colleges in India.

During the BTech placement campaign at IIIT Dharwad in 2023, an average package of INR 11.52 LPA was provided. The maximum package available was INR 35 LPA. During the recruitment drive, 68% of the BTech candidates were placed.
