Students may get admission in IIM Bangalore with 95 percentile in CAT. But this is not enough to get a seat. The admission chances also depend on student's overall profile. This includes academic scores + performance in the selection rounds. Students can check the cutoff trends to know better.

Yes, it is difficult to get admission in IIM Bangalore. With it being one of the top IIMs, the admission chances are very slim. Only those who clear the high cutoff can get a seat in flagship PGP programme. Students have to clear not only the cutoff, but also the selection rounds to get admission. But with the right planning and practice, students can join the institute.

No, students can't get direct admission in IIM Bangalore. The institute accepts students strictly through entrance basis. Students have to clear the selection rounds to get admission in the institute.

Students have to submit some documents during IIM Bangalore admissions and applications. The general list is as below:
- Class 12 marksheets & Certificate
- UG/PG degree marksheets and Certificate
- Entrance exam scorecard & admit cards
- SOP - if applicable
- Aadhaar card or other identity proof
- Caste certificate - if applicable
- Recommendation letter (for Executive courses)
- Passport-size photograph
- Transfer Certificate
- Migration Certificate - if applicable

Candidates must have a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% or an equivalent CGPA (45% for those in the SC, ST, or PwD categories) in order to be selected for IIM Bangalore. Admission to IIM Bangalore in 2024 is exclusively through entrance. A valid CAT exam score is required for admission to the flagship programme at IIM Bangalore, the MBA. This is followed by rounds of written ability tests and personal interviews.
International students can apply to IIM Bangalore via the GMAT or GRE, and the Indian students can apply using CAT. The IIM-B exams are administered by IIM Bangalore in order to admit students to PhD and Executive MBA (E

For admission year 2026 the flagship EPGP course had its application window close on December 01, 2025. For PGPEM, however, the applications for R-1 was held between July 21, 2025 and October 8, 2025 while the closure of R-2 applications will take place on January 20, 2026.
For the 2026 PhD batch, applications are likely to be held around late January or February of 2026. For more details, students are advised to visit the official website and apply online.
