On August 8, 2011, the Indian Institute of Mass Communication Aizawl, or IIMC Aizawl, was officially opened as the East Regional Centre of IIMC. Numerous international, national, and regional news agencies, including Reuters, WION, PTI, The Times of India, The Indian Express, Mathrubhumi, and Malayala Manorama, employ IIMC Aizawl students. LIFE AT IIMC DHENKANAL IS EXPERIENCE ITSELF! 

The campus is beautiful and surrounded by hills and forests. It rains almost every month especially during the period of August-October. Educational culture is good. You'll get people with same interests as yours. The placement record of the college is also good. The beauty of tank top from IIMC Dhenkanal is irresistible, it gives view of whole town.

Tuition fees for post graduate Diploma course in journalism (English and Hindi) is around 87,000 INR exclusing library and student welfare fees. The grand total comes to be around 96,000 INR. 

For PGD course of journalism in native languages like Marathi, Odia, Urdu, Malayalam, The tuition fees is 47,000 INR. Grand total is around 56,000 INR. 

Hostel fees are not included in above grand total. Hostel fees is around 40,000 INR. 

The fees seems to be very high but it is affordable when compared to other private colleges in terms of mass communication.

IIMC Dhenkanal and IIMC Kottayam both are reputable institutions for mass communication education. It is difficult to compare these institute as both are good in their own domain. However, here are few differences between the two:

  1. PLACEMENTS: IIMC Dhenkanal is known for its strong placement records, with almost 70 to 80 percent students being placed every year from the institute. 
  2. CAMPUS: IIMC Kottayam has a permanent campus which is working on initiating new short term courses for mass communication. Whereas, IIMC Dhenkanal nestles in the rural and tribal hinterland in central Odisha.
