Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Aizawl hostel fee for females is INR 27,570 to INR 31,770. Indian Institute of Mass Communication Aizawl hostel fee for males is INR 27,570 to INR 31,770. However, IIMC Aizawl is very well maintained, and the hostel is provided for males and females. The IIMC, Aizawl hostel is provided with 24-hour security. The hostel has very good facilities and provides good food. They serve different food every day of the week.

Q:   Can I get admission to IIMC if my rank is below cutoff?

IIMC cutoff is minimum qualifying mark that students must socre to be eligible for admission. To ensure a seat at IIMC campus, aspirants are supposed to score equal to or more than prescribed cut off marks. If they fail to do so, they will not be able to get admission at Indian Institute of Mass Communication.

Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Aizawl offers only two post-graduate courses, namely Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism English and Post Graduate Diploma in Digital Media. At present, the temporary IIMC, Aizawl campus is located inside the campus of Aizawl University. However, The duration of both Post Graduation Diploma courses is one year.

Facilities: The IIMC, Aizawl is currently functioning in a transit building made available by Mizoram University. IIMC, Aizawl offered a library, audio-visual facility, reading room, well-equipped computer labs, and spacious classroom. The permanent IIMC, Aizawl campus will have all facilities which include an auditorium, hostels for males and females, a spacious canteen, and a residential facility for faculty members and others. The IIMC, Aizawl campus is almost ready for commissioning subject to the availability of the required staff and equipment.

    The admissions will be based on the candidates’ performance in the Computer based Entrance Examination conducted by National Testing Agency. The detailed instructions regarding the Entrance Examination are given in the Instruction Bulletin and FAQ of CUET (PG). It is expected from all the examinees that they attend the examination in a fair and self-disciplined way and are advised not to use any unfair means. Applicants are strongly advised to understand the whole process properly by attending the webinar and mock test to be organized by the National Testing Agency.

    To apply for course admission at  IIMC Aizawl, candidates must apply for CUET entrance exam first. Since the selection criteria for the course is through CUET entrance exam.     Admission to postgraduate Diploma programmes is determined by merit, taking into account a candidate's performance in the entrance exam or the marks they received in the qualifying degree examination. The fundamental requirements for qualifying are that students must have graduated from a university approved by the UGC with a minimum aggregate grade of 45–50% for the unreserved category and 40–45% for the reserved category, however specific institution requirements may also apply with variation. Although there are no set CUET passing scores, in order to be considered for admission, a candidate must receive a minimum score of 300–400.

    No, IIMC Aizawl accepts CUET scores entrance exam scores for admission. Direct admissions are not possible.
