For admission PhD/FPM in IIM Lucknow, aspirants must meet the minimum eligibility requirements. Eligible candidates can download the application from the IIM Lucknow official website. After filling out the application, it has to be sent by post to the authorities. Further, applicants are shortlisted for the interview round based on merit in CAT/GATE/GRE/GMAT or JRF/SRF (UGC/CSIR/ICAR). The final seat allotment is carried out on the basis of candidates' overall performance in the selection rounds and academic records. A selection list shall be released and the candidates are also informed over mail or SMS.

There are multiple components included in the total course fee such as tuition fee, caution deposit, etc. The total tuition fee for IIM Lucknow FPM & EFPM course range between INR 5 Lacs and INR 7.5 lakh. This fee is taken from an unofficial source. Hence, is indicative.

Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow offer Fellow Programme in Management (FPM). It is a full-time residential programme to be completed in four years and six months. Candidates wanting to pursue this course must meet the minimum eligibility requirements. Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow offers Post-Graduate Programme in Management (PGPWE) and International Programme in Management (IPMX) for working executives. Admission to these programmes is completely entrance-based. Moreover, it is also necessary that the aspirants fulfil the course-specific minimum eligibility requirements. For selection, applicants must hold a minimum work experience of three years for PGPWE and five-years for IPMX.

For admission to IIM Lucknow for the flagship MBA (or PGP) course, the result of CAT 2023 can be expected by the last week of December 2023 (If the CAT conducting body follows the trend as in 2022). However, if the trend is not followed, the same will most probably be out by the first week of January 2024. After the release of result, the exam takers will be able to download their CAT scorecards from the official website using their login credentials for IIM Lucknow admission.

For admission to MBA (or PGP) 2024 batch at IIM Lucknow, the CAT test will be conducted on November 26, 2023. Aspirants of IIM Lucknow are required to appear for the exam in Computer Based Testing mode at the allotted test centres. CAT exam 2023 will be held in three slots:
- Morning slot: 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM
- Afternoon slot: 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM
- Evening slot: 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM
Earlier, the CAT exam used to be of 180 minutes with 100 questions but in 2020, both exam duration and number of questions were reduced due to COVID-19 pandemic. Now, starting CAT 2022, the total number of questions stands at 66 as part of CAT pattern.
