Yes, IIM Lucknow is 100% safe for girls in all respects. The campus is guarded fully at all gates. In the 32 years of legacy, there hasn't been a single incidence where girls would feel unsafe.

The minimum cutoff percentile for CAT 2017 for OBC category was 82% with minimum of 77% in each subject. However the statistics do change every year according to the batch and hence are tentative and cannot be predicted.

Pursuing a Master's Degree from any IIM itself is a big achievement. Not everybody gets a chance to get placed in IIMs.
The placement opportunities are vast with all core profiles in MNCs and top companies.
IIM's are recognised all over the world, hence an MBA from such Institutes will help you gain exposure to an entirely practical Industry based knowledge.

Yes, you can prepare for CAT at home. First, clear your basics and then move forward.
Here are some books that you can refer for your preparation:-
1) Quants - First solve the NCERT from 6th to 10th standard and then solve M.Tyra and Rs Aggarwal. These books will strengthen your foundation. Once you complete these books you can go for Arun Sharma.
2) Verbal/ RC- Start reading as much as you can. Read newspaper, novels, magazine etc, this will increase your ability to understand the context. Also, refer to verbal ability and reading comprehension book by Arun Sharma.
