IIM Nagpur is basically good for Management students, marketing and non-marketing. Nagpur IIM popular programme is MBA. IIM Nagpur MBA students are taught through lectures, classroom discussions, term papers, role plays, case studies, individual and group projects, business games, and others. The MBA curriculum includes International Immersion programmes on completion of the college's first year, a field immersion, and various summer internships.

At the PG level, the college offers two-year MBA (overseas and domestic) courses to students. The college also provides PhD, Executive PhD,  Executive MBA, and various other courses to students.

IIM Nagpur admission process is entrance based for the MBA programme and candidates wishing to secure a seat must participate in the CAT. Candidates are initially shortlisted based on their CAT score, these candidates are further required to appear for the GDPI or WAT and PI round to finalise their admission. A final merit list is created based on many aspects such as academics, entrance score, and the interview score.
