The duration of IIM Trichy DPM/PhD course is five-years. The maximum duration by which a candidate must complete the course is seven years. In the first eighteen months of the course, candidates have to complete a coursework, which includes study of general management subjects, advanced courses in the respective areas of specialisation, fundamental courses for management research, and programmes in research methodologies. Furthermore, aspirants have to earn at least a minimum of 54 credits. 

Indian Institute of Management, Trichy offer a full-time Doctoral Programme in Management (DPM). This course focuses on research training. It is offered in eight specialisations, including Marketing, Finance & Accounting, Stratergy, etc. IIM Trichy PhD applications are accepted via online mode. Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria are shortlisted based on educational records and scores of CAT/GMAT/GRE/IIMB Test/UGC-JRF.
