In the final round, the IISER closing rank stood at 1671 for the BS + MS programme, across multiple specialisations for the General AI category students. IISER 2025 cutoff was released for different categories of students belonging to the All India quota.

The admissions to the IISER Pune are through the IISER Aptitude Test. The cutoff of the entrance test can change every the year. The marks needed depends on the factors like the number of students, the number of seats and the difficulty of the exam.

The PhD programme at IISER Pune is a blend of classroom curriculum, mentoring under-graduate students along with a major research component. The research scholars are expected to complete at least 16 credits of coursework within the first two semesters followed by a comprehensive examination to assess the student's candidacy for PhD.
