You can get into the BTech courses offered by IIT (ISM) Dhanbad through JEE Mains. However, JEE Mains isn't enough. One must clear JEE Advanced to get into any of the IITs. The same applies to the IIT Dhanbad admissions as well. To summarise: 

IIT Dhanbad BTech Admission = Clearing JEE Mains + JEE Advanced + Participating in JoSAA counselling for seat allotment.

Not getting into IIT Dhanbad or any other top IIT should not be considered an end to a student’s career. While IIT Dhanbad average package is INR 20.79 LPA for its 2024 placements batch, can IIT Dhanbad guarantee the same for each and every student of the batch? The answer is no. What truly matters is a student’s dream to pursue a career in Engineering and as long as they are ready to work on their learning and are focused towards achieving their goal, they must not feel defeated in case of not getting into IIT Dhanbad.

To get admission to M.Tech in IIT Dhanbad, students need to be eligible to apply for the course. The Institute accepts admission based on GATE entrance scores followed by COAP counselling. Students who are graduated from IIT are exempted from the GATE entrance score requirement. Hence, for admission, students need to apply for GATE by visiting the GOAPS website.
