It depends on which branch you're comparing in both colleges, which direction you want to proceed in! If you just compare entry rankings, then Hyderabad performs better. But to know about how teaching, placements and conditions are actually in both the colleges, you need to ask both the sides about their stuff.
Also, once you find yourself more comfortable at a place, you might perform better, compared to being uneasy at a probably much higher ranked place.
Now when it comes to Hyderabad, if you perform decently well from your side, you'll definitely gain a lot from this college, specifically if you're in CS-related fields. (I can tell that it's at least awesome in CS, EE related fields, not much idea about other branches). People get nice placements (Google, Microsoft, Qualcomm, etc.) and get into good grad schools (Stanford, CMU, UIUC, etc.) for research. Once you land here, it totally depends on the efforts you put to gain from it, be it in any direction.

If you are willing to put in some extra effort, study further and work in a core job, then it is totally worth it. The courses taught are not purely metallurgy based, i.e a healthy amount of materials Science is taught as well, such as polymers etc. The department has enthusiastic professors, and more will be joining soon. They are quite helpful and willing to involve undergraduates in research and seniors are always there to guide you appropriately. There is an atmosphere of active research here, and if you show interest, you'll probably do very well here. On the other hand, if you like to work in the IT industry, you have the option of a double major in another department (in this case, CSE). This entails an extra 24 credits, which will get you two UG degrees and might help you secure a well-paying job in the industry. Alternatively, minors are also offered, in most of the engineering departments, as well as a minors in entrepreneurship. Lastly, if you are looking at a branch change, that is also possible. Every year quite a few people take it, and are doing well. Their CGPA is affected for a while, but they are usually able to compensate for the loss later on. Hope this helps.
