IIT Kharagpur hostels offer various facilities for its residences such as uninterrupted Wi-Fi, canteens, stationery shop, juice centres, night canteens, tea shops, common room with TV, swimming pool, bank, market, gym facilities, and many other facilities.
Almost every room in each hall of residence is furnished with a bed, table, chair, high-speed LAN ports, fans, lights and adequate electricity ports. The quantity of the aforementioned things may vary depending upon the occupancy of the room whether it’s single room, double sharing or triple occupancy sharing.

Lal Bahadur Shastri (LBS) Hall of Residence is the largest hostel in terms of area and facilities. Lal Bahadur Shastri Hall of Residence construction completed in 2010 is a modern state-of-the-art hostel. It is a very spacious hostel and has many blocks in it. Apart from LBS Hall of Residence, there are several other hostels on the campus of IIT Kharagpur.

Library: The Central Library of IIT Kharagpur is one of the largest technical libraries in Asia, open to the institute's students from the UG, PG, and research scholar levels. It has books related to all subjects and also has a facility of the digital library.

There are five halls of residence (hostels) allocated for girls at IIT Kharagpur campus. Here is the list of girls hostel at IIT Kharagpur:

Girl's hostels are located near the academic centre, playground, police station and auditorium.

Hostels at IIT Kharagpur are furnished with beds, tables, chairs, high-speed LAN ports, fans, lights and adequate electricity ports. The quantity of the aforementioned things may vary depending upon the occupancy of the room whether it’s single room, double sharing or triple occupancy sharing.
Also, some halls (hostel is referred to as hall of residence at IIT Kharagpur and hostellers as boarders) have washing machine facilities and some don’t. Laundry service is available at a reasonable price.

IIT Kharagpur has one of the largest college campuses. It is even bigger than the IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi and IIT Kanpur campuses combined. The IIT Kharagpur campus is spread across 8.5 km (2100 acres). IIT Kharagpur is located at a distance of 120 km from Kolkata. There are 21 halls or residences (hostels) at IIT Kharagpur out of which 16 are for boys and 5 are allocated for girls and approximately 10,000 students live on the campus.
